The entirety of this album was written and recorded on March 31st 2014 in various locations around Downtown Hamilton with a field recorder. I went into the coffee shop Democracy, bought myself a peanut butter cookie and Italian Soda earlier in the afternoon and tried to write lyrics to an old melody but to no avail. While sitting there I peered over the shoulder of the fellow sitting next to me- he was drawing some amazing cartoon characters. I struck up a conversation and we ended up talking about being stuck for inspiration that day. He then started showing me more fleshed out drawings- he called the day just his "Doodle Day." Something about that encounter was very inspiring, it was uplifting to know that other people are out in public spaces creating artwork and so I created some of my own. He told me to "get some sun" to get the juices flowing and so voila!
