lyrics

blushing plum cheeks like a baboons,

behind drywall there are vacuum tubes,

I’ve been collecting all of our sheddings,

like our pet snake’s skin, and tiny containers,

for wasps, june bugs, report cards left me,

painted bold but slowly degraded-

degraded,

slowly belittled,

degraded-

how does one define something they don’t see clearly? (you know, just nearly)

Canvas skinned bodies and pin cushion faces,

become torn button up shirts that need ironing,

can’t be normal if dressed informal

They taught us early with ball popping vacuums,

plastic hamburgers for a plastic clientele,

a prize un-natural and so poorly synthesized-

synthesized,

life devised,

so synthesized,

How does one live a life against-

—-

Well that’s just crazy talking,

say’s your jack Russell barking,

nature’s the only thing that’s real-

have you forgotten?

forgotten?

It just comes built in,

what you’ve forgotten,

That’s how you take stabs at yourself so gingerly,

and willingly,

and you don’t want to see,

cause then you’d have to change-

entirely.
